WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING:
Just wanted to say thanks for such a great performance. You guys rocked! Everyone had a blast, and the term "best band ever" was thrown about multiple times.
Wedding Crashers is an annual series of Brooklyn events showcasing creative, boutique wedding vendors, including caterers, event designers, florists, and of course, bands! This is the third in this year’s series of Wedding Crashers music showcases, and we’re excited to be featuring The Affections from Lucy Music. They’ll perform on a bill with some other terrific bands from NYC.
Note: Lucy Music doesn’t rep the other bands on Monday’s bill, just The Affections, but we’re all friends, and they’re all great bands. The Affections play first – at 7:20pm sharp!
The rare wedding band that is actually a band, The Affections are good friends and frequent musical cohorts within the Brooklyn music scene. They cover classics you love that aren’t being played into the ground at every other wedding. They dig into faithful renditions of fun songs by your favorite bands – as long as your favorite bands aren’t The Black Eyed Peas, The Kooks, or that one that wrote Macarena. At a recent wedding they could be heard seamlessly transitioning between The Rolling Stones, James Brown, Michael Jackson, and MGMT. Check them out – The Affections are truly a different kind of wedding cover band.
Members of The Affections have worked with some of music’s most respected artists, including David Byrne, Andrew Bird, Lauren Hill, Sufjan Stevens, Sharon Jones, & the Dap Kings, Marianne Faithfull, Yo Yo Ma, Suzanne Vega, Björk, Sia, Sara Bareilles, and Jose James.
Live poets The Haiku Guys and Gals, tarot reader Naomi Rosenblatt and Antique Phonograph DJ MAC, a Jazz Age DJ who uses century old gramophones, and a GIF photobooth from The Booth will add another level of fun to an already packed lineup of bands. In between the bands, you’ll hear sets by DJ Colleen Crumbcake of Sugartown Industries.
Tickets for the event at The Bell House are $10 in advance and available here.
