We got into this by accident.
OUR ORIGIN
Each of Lucy Music’s bands started in the same way – as groups of friends playing parties for friends and fans. What started as a fun gig or two playing our favorite cover songs quickly became something more. It began to be apparent that there is a serious appetite in New York for alternatives to the typical wedding music bands being offered.
Band leaders Aaron, Milton, Ed, Peter, and Dana each invested their time and resources to make videos, websites, and “alias” wedding band names for their bands (like The Prenups & The Loyales.) Lucy Music is the umbrella brand for these bands.
Over the years, Lucy Music has carved out its reputation in the live event industry as a boutique music company specializing in NYC’s premiere "non-traditional" wedding bands.
OUR APPROACH
Our bandleaders work closely with our couples, from the first phone call. Our songlists are full of deep-cuts that bands only attempt when there's a rich chemistry between the musicians. Our favorite thing to do (besides playing the party) is to go through the list with our clients, honing the batch of songs that will define their live "playlist."
