Lucy Music is the best wedding band company in NY for those seeking non-cheesy bands. Lucy Music is a boutique company specializing in non-traditional, alt- wedding cover bands for weddings, parties, events, and more. Read more about us!
That’s a good question, and one we can help you find the answer to. Reach out to us and we can send you song lists, pricing, reviews, and links to videos. As you review the materials and check out the bands, we’ll help you home-in on which vocalists are resonating with you the most, and which band’s musical strengths will fit your party the most. We’re happy to help you with your planning. We want to help you figure out if we’re the right fit, even if it turns out we aren’t!
Reach out via our contact form, and we’ll get right back to you with pricing.
Like most wedding music companies, our price quotes are contingent on knowing some basic details about the event, such as where it’s taking place, the date, and a rough schedule. This all plays into how we factor in travel & our musicians’ time. Details like how many guests you’re expecting can affect how large the sound production might need to be, for instance.
Most clients are reaching out to us in the beginning stages of planning. You may not have even signed the contract with your venue yet. No problem. We can send you pricing options for a particular region or city/town, to start. When the specifics start coming in, we can hone a more detailed price quote for your event.
For NYC weddings, ceremony music can start as low as $1400 for a string quartet, and reception music can start as low as $5500 for a 4-piece band.
We do travel! We may require lodging if the distance is too far to drive after the event. Happy to discuss!
We travel outside NYC frequently. We regularly travel all over NY, NJ, PA, CT, New England, & the mid-Atlantic area (ie. DC, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware).
For destination weddings & corporate events, we travel across the U.S., and internationally. We’d love to go back to Bermuda, for instance, so if you’re here on this website while planning a wedding in Bermuda, you need not wait any longer – just press the contact us button and let’s make it happen. We miss the strange sounds of the tree frogs.
Yes.
What makes our bands unique are the bonds that have been built between the musicians. Our bands are “real bands”, meaning they’re groups of friends that play together all the time, in their own original projects, and in these cover bands. A natural chemistry evolves when musicians are truly together in a band. That chemistry allows the band to delve into “deep cuts” that most cover bands wouldn’t attempt. Even if we’re playing a song you’ve heard a million times, it’s going to be our own version, based on the personality of the band.
We do! Reach out and we can send you the latest schedules.
Note: we don’t have regular showcases like some other wedding band companies. We are all busy with original projects, but our videos really tell a lot of the story with us. Our videos are raw, shot live, usually during a dance party or a wedding fair. When we play showcases, they’re usually dance parties that we organize, like The Loyales series at Sunny’s Bar in Red Hook, Brooklyn, or the Cruel Summer 80s-90s dance party at The Bell House with The Engagements.
Baby Soda Jazz Band has a weekly gig they play, and they regularly busk in Central Park and Washington Square Park. You can keep up with their schedule on their Facebook page, or on their Instagram.
The Prenups never showcase. They usually get booked off of their reputation. They’re like the Bigfoot of wedding bands. The legend is real.
Lucy is the imaginary muse for this company. The name Lucy brings to mind some of our favorite musical characters – Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Lucy (at the foot of Schroeder’s piano), and Lucille Ball (musical herself of course, but also partnered with the great bandleader Desi Arnez). Also, there’s Lucy the 3.1 million year-old primate, (who is also named after Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.) In short, “Lucy” is a name that can conjure thoughts of wonder, history, & fun. Lucy rocks.
