Popular dance music from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s.
The Engagements cover band is an extraordinary New York City band available to hire for your wedding or party.
The Engagements packs the dance floor, bringing an energy that’s "phenomenal," whether performing for weddings, corporate events, private parties, or dances.
"NOT your average, cookie-cutter wedding band."
Lara (wedding client)
"They play the music you actually WANT to hear at a wedding."
Caroline Q. (wedding client)
"They play together perfectly."
Emily (wedding client)
The band members’ years-long rapport allows them to dig deep into covers, often playing songs that would be too difficult or complicated for a "weekend-warrior" pick-up band from a wedding band agency.
The Engagements' set lists are full of classic, fun, recognizable songs that haven’t been played to death at weddings.
"SO WORTH IT."
Emily (wedding client)
"The Engagements covers lots of dance & popular music from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s. (Contact us for our full songlist). We love playing rare soul, new wave, Motown, synth-pop, classic rock, 70s AM Gold jams, 80s one-hit wonders, 90s alternative, 50s & 60s big band hits (Great American Songbook standards), and much more."
“The eleven instrument swappers who crowd The Engagements’ stage can do straight-up hits, but they’d rather be rocking ‘This Charming Man’ [The Smiths].”
"The premiere 80’s-covering wedding band."
Originally created to play at a musician friend’s wedding, the band has since entertained weddings and parties of every size and ilk. Along the way, The Engagements has built a reputation as a unique, “un-wedding-band” wedding band.
The Engagements band members have played with Big Daddy Kane, Steely Dan, Aloe Blacc, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Jon Batiste, Michael Bublé, French Kicks, Kat Edmonson, Michael McDonald, and more. The Engagements cover band is based in Brooklyn, NY.
Aaron Thurston, the band’s drummer and bandleader, is the owner and creative director of Lucy Music. Aaron also serves as the musical director, producer, and drummer for vintage-pop, Sony recording artist Kat Edmonson.
