The Engagements, & Tribute Strings were awarded the coveted “Couples Choice Award” from WeddingWire for reviews that came in just before the pandemic. Many, many thanks to all of the clients who said nice things about us online for this!We continue to be amazed by all of the clients who choose us. Our clients choose us knowing each of our bands purposefully plays only those songs that can be delivered with sincerity. Heart and soul matters. Sincerity matters. That moment in the room, all together, matters to us. The song is important, but so is the energy of the band, the sensitivity to the moment, and the vibe in the room. We work closely with every client to sculpt a setlist that reflects the party they envision, and we strive for sincere, inspired moments throughout. It’s satisfying to look back at a year of unique moments, beginning with those outside-the-box clients who selected Lucy Music . Thank you!!!
The Engagements loved being a part of this picturesque wedding in Maine. Big thanks to Cairn Events! Once again Heather Quinn Cuzzi proved why she's at the top of our list of favorite event planners. Some praise from the bride & groom:
Working with Aaron and The Engagements was a true pleasure. In our entire wedding planning process, The Engagements were our favorite vendors to work with. Not only were they extremely efficient and professional in their communications, but they continually put us at ease, responding to our requests with a great deal of flexibility and understanding. Their live performance was HANDS DOWN the best we've ever experienced at a wedding (of course, we're probably a little biased). We were touched by the number of songs the band was willing to learn for us, and by how many of our requested songs they played SO incredibly well. Hearing our favorite music on our wedding day was a magical experience we will remember for the rest of our lives. The Engagements made that possible and we will be forever grateful. Use this band if you have the opportunity to do so! You won't regret it!" - J&P

Check out this lovely wedding The Engagements played in Brooklyn. From the bride:
"I have been married since June and am still receiving cards from guests exclaiming how incredible the music was at our wedding! Everything about the Engagements was amazing. They are EXTREMELY talented musicians who clearly love what they do. They are true musicians and it shows! Everyone, all ages (from our 3 year old son to my 84 year old uncle) danced up a storm all night! I danced so much that I didn't even get a chance to go around to all of our guests tables!! The dance floor was packed and there were a lot of sweaty guests 🙂 My husband was very reluctant initially about hiring a band that played covers, concerned mostly that they would end up just sounding bad and cheesy and that they would not be able to play a range of music to cover the age range of our guests. I was nervous at first about hiring them as it was going to be a large part of our budget but I assure you, it was so worth it! My husband loved the music, and has singled the band out as one of the best parts of our wedding! We had absolutely no complaints. They made the night a super fun party that everyone truly loved. We could not recommend more highly this band. If you have hesitations, as it is definitely a big decision, the music for your wedding...just go for it...you will NOT be disappointed!!!" - Holly, Brooklyn Wedding, June 2013.

However obscure your tastes may be, [these] wedding bands are up for the challenge.“
– New York Magazine Weddings, Summer 2014
Very cool! Two of our most-requested Lucy Music bands are featured in the Summer 2014 New York Magazine Weddings “guide to the reception”:
go with the flow like a living, breathing jukebox, full of expertly curated 45s, from the chug-a-lug chords of Johnny Cash and British Invasion breakdowns of The Beatles to soul and R&B standards like James Brown, Etta James, and The O’Jays.“
The eleven instrument swappers who crowd The Engagements’ stage can do straight-up hits, but they’d rather be rocking “This Charming Man”, not to mention choice cuts from the 70s (‘Tiny Dancer’) and 90s (‘Common People’).”
Our resident 80s cover band, The Engagements, played the annual “Halloweird” party here in NYC. These photos tell some of the story. Some Halloweird facts:
- The hosts of this party have been putting this on for 5 years.
- It started as a small Halloween party amongst friends in an apartment.
- It has grown into an epic, annual celebration of the weird.

The Engagements (“The premiere 80s-covering wedding band” – Paper Mag) are excited to be performing for an infamous, annual, NYC Halloween party:

For the 7th year in a row, Lucy Music proudly provided a quartet for the cocktail hour of the New York Rangers annual charity golf outing.
The NY Rangers is a great organization, and they gave us strong direction about the upbeat mood they wanted us to sustain.
Our quartet consisted of organ, guitar, drums, and saxophone. We performed a mix of blues, funk, and jazz, with a lot of soul thrown in, as per the direction of the music-loving Rangers.
It was an honor to work with the staff of the Rangers once again, and we’re so happy to have been lucky with the weather at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, NY!
